1st Bowerhill Scout Group are delighted that Wiltshire Council has supported the group by buying them a minibus, using money from the community care grants scheme.
The 17-seat bus made its ‘maiden voyage’ with an adventure to Basingstoke for indoor skydiving.
The scout group has 50 members in four sections; Beavers aged six-eight; Cubs aged eight-10; Scouts, 10-14 and Explorers, 14-18. The minibus will allow them to have adventures and experiences – camping, outdoor activities and community support. Bob Whiffing, Assistant Scout Leader, said: “The community grant has already had a massive impact on what we can offer and is part of all our planning activities for next term. We are most definitely on an adventure and would like to thank Wiltshire County Council and the Melksham Area Board for their support.”
