Students at Matravers School, Westbury, celebrated the end of their GCSE exams by putting on the glitz and enjoying their end of Year 11 prom at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, Bradford on Avon.

Many of them arrived at the venue on Tuesday evening in style – in limousines, fire engines, camper vans and even a horsebox.

The evening started off with a disco, which was followed by a buffet.

Many staff members were there to wish them well.

Pastoral manager for Year 11 Donna Thorn said: “It was a lovely evening and the young people all looked incredible.

“It is a celebration of what they have achieved during their time at Matravers. They can now look ahead to post-16 education.

“They have been a credit to the school and are an amazing bunch of young people who will be successful in whatever they want to do.

“We have got more than 100 staying on in the sixth form to do A-levels so we get to keep some of these wonderful people for a little longer. For the ones that are leaving us, it was a truly lovely way to say goodbye.”

Some of the Year 11 pupils are leaving Matravers to go on to college, and now they will all be eagerly awaiting their GCSE results in August.
