Teachers at Bradford on Avon’s St Laurence School will join other public sector workers on a day of strike action today, with the school closed to years 9 and 10.
Lessons will continue as normal for all other students, but the two year groups have been advised to stay away for the day. A Year 6 induction day will also proceed as planned.
Trowbridge’s John of Gaunt School will be open as normal, but usual lessons may be replaced with sporting activities coordinated by Active Trowbridge.
All other high schools in Trowbridge, Melksham, Westbury and Warminster are expected to open as usual, with some primaries across the county likely to be affected.
Striking NUT members will join firefighters and council employees at a rally outside County Hall in Trowbridge later this morning.
