WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a series of industrial burglaries in Swindon.

Between May 25 and July 17 there have been seven burglaries at construction sites across the town which officers believed are linked.

One of the latest incidents took place on Monday 23 June at a housing construction site on Tadpole Lane, North Swindon.

Two large industrial tools (weighing 150kg each) were stolen from the site between 5.30pm and 11.30pm. The stolen items were stored in a metal shipping container which was broken into by force, causing damage.

The offenders have used a digger from the site to move the items to a more accessible location on Tadpole Lane where it is believed they then transferred them into a vehicle parked on the road.

As a result of police enquiries, a 33-year-old man and an 18-year-old man have been arrested in connection with this incident.

Officers would like to hear from any member of the public with information regarding this incident or anyone who has noticed any suspicious activity in the area.

Officers would also like to hear from any drivers who may have noticed any vehicles parked on the road side during this date.

In addition to this incident, there have been further burglaries on constructions sites in Churchway, Blunsdon, which officers believe are connected.

Burglaries at this location took place on May 25, June 8 and between July 9 and July 17. Industrial tools and 7 rolls of lead were stolen.

There have also been thefts at sites on Pasture Close, The Circle and Firefly Avenue all between June 21 and 23. Again, officers are linking these incidents to the others mentioned. Various industrial hand tools and also large industrial tools were stolen from these locations.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
