Children of Army families enjoyed two days of rugby fun at the Land Warfare Centre in Warminster last week, thanks to Bath Rugby’s community team.
The camp gave the youngsters, aged six to 16, a chance to learn new skills and focused on individual skill development and game understanding – with the all-important fun activities.
The Army helped by putting on a thoroughly entertaining show and provided a bouncy castle, assault course inflatable, paintballing and food including a barbecue.
On the second day the children were shown around one of the tanks on the base and a special guest also appeared on the same day: Lance Corporal Semesa Rokoduguni, otherwise known as Bath Rugby’s star winger and scourge of opposition defenders.
When not scoring sensational tries for Bath, Rokoduguni is a tank driver in the Army.
“It was a fantastic two days which the children thoroughly enjoyed,” said Bath Rugby community coach Kim Oliver.
“We love coming to these camps and having the opportunity to coach the Army children.
“The activities they put on to entertain the entire camp were brilliant.”
