Vintage fashion led the catwalk at St Laurence School, Bradford on Avon, today when pupils commemorate the First World War centenary with a fashion show.

Looking back at some of the main trends over the past 100 years, the event organised by the school association hopes to raise money towards the year 11 pupils’ prom and school projects.

This is the first time that the annual fashion show has pivoted on vintage clothing and coordinator of the show, Betty Gleave, said: “If you want to see old Hollywood style glamour, some rock and roll icons, and the best and worst of 1970s’ fashion victims, it will all be on our catwalk.”

Frank and Elsie, the vintage and retro clothing shop in Bradford on Avon, is providing many outfits and helping with authentic hair and make up for each era. The shop is run by two former St Laurence pupils, sisters Ellen and Dora Bishop.

The evening starts at 7.30pm where there will also be stalls, music, a raffle, tombola, a quiz and refreshments.

Tickets cost £5 and are on sale St Laurence school reception or from the Made in Bradford on Avon shop.
