Plans have been submitted to extend Easterton Village Hall.
The village hall management committee has applied for planning permission to demolish the extension on the west side and extend the play area to the side and rear, as well as providing a new meeting room and improving the toilet/washroom.
The asbestos cement roof covering is beginning to deteriorate and the committee aims to replace it with insulated steel roofing and create a porchway and handrails to the main entrance.
The plans would result in the overall floor area increasing by 35 per cent. The committee said the village hall, in Kings Road, is regularly used for local functions and a new meeting room would increase its viability.
