Bradford on Avon Library got an early Christmas present from Budgens, through the store’s Love Local scheme.
The store used £200 raised to buy two trollies, for library volunteers to carry books and CDs to housebound users, and a new rug for children listening to rhyme time.
When a Budgens customer spends money, a percentage goes towards a cause or organisation voted for by the shoppers.
Trainee manager Luke Merritt said: “The organisation can get a cheque or Budgens will buy the goods. When we spoke with the library, this is what they asked for and they said it will benefit them hugely.
“Budgens stock local products and this scheme is a continuation of keeping things local.”
