Police in Melksham are urging people to lock their homes and cars after a spate of thefts.
A man in his early 20s has been arrested in connection with thefts in Primrose Drive last Friday.
A leather wallet with car keys and £25 was stolen from a kitchen, with designer sunglasses and a phone then taken from a car outside. Other homes were entered, plus a van, a conservatory and a shed. All had been left unlocked.
Sunglasses, a sat-nav and £70 in cash were taken from a car in Nightingale Close this week, while attempted thefts were reported in Farl-eigh Avenue, St George’s Place, Semington, Arden Close and Goldfinch Road.
PCSO Helen Wilson said: “The amount of people who still leave their doors open is a nightmare.”
