TEN teens with mentors at youth project SMASH have raised £1,000 for charity.
The youngsters formed a fundraising group after going climbing together to help to pay for an outdoor adventure challenge, but then they decided to switch their efforts to an altruistic cause.
The youngsters held a Christmas fayre to raise money for SMASH, and raked up more than £370 on the day.
Since then, donations from the Fairford Community Church, the Bank of New York Mellon and the 419ers Social Club at Royal Mail have helped to top up their efforts to around £1,000.
