An author of parenting books will be speaking at a conference organised by St James’ Church, Devizes, on March 1.

Rachel Turner, who has been a children and families’ worker and now consults and runs training days for parents, children and youth workers around the UK and Europe, will be the keynote speaker.

She is also the author of Parenting Children for a Life of Purpose and Parenting Children for a Life of Faith.

The conference, called Building Families, Building Faith, is open to families of all shapes and sizes and promises to be an enjoyable day to gain insight on how to benefit from being a family of faith.

“Alongside the seminars and workshops there will be other activities to engage all members of the family including a messy art room and a prayer shack.

The Rev Jonathan Triffitt, the vicar of St James’s said: “Our family is one of the most important communities we ever experience.

“In the midst of a world of tremendous change, we believe that families of faith just work better especially when life presents its challenges.

“So we wanted to provide a space where families could come together to explore this idea.”

The conference is at The Trinity Primary School, Devizes, from 9.30am to 4.30pm and costs £5 per person or £15 per family.
