Warminster residents will notice changes to the way Royal Mail delivers mail to the town over the next few weeks, with new delivery methods and revised routes being introduced on a phased basis.

Changes include postmen and women sharing a van to help them complete two delivery routes using one vehicle, while high capacity trolleys will allow them to carry more mail at one time.

Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day and many customers will still get their mail by lunchtime.

The time customers receive mail will depend on where they live on the new delivery route, which may be later or possibly earlier than current delivery times.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “The changes are the result of fewer letters being delivered every day and Royal Mail needs to organise its routes to be as efficient as possible.

“We are now delivering more large items and so we are investing in new equipment to carry these items.”
