Rowde village shop is preparing itself for the visit of three judges in the Prince of Wales awards who are due to drop in tomorrow.

The shop, which is run by volunteers from the local community, has been shortlisted for a community award and, if selected, will receive their prize at the Royal Bath and West Show at Shepton Mallet at the end of May.

The three judges are David Curtis from the Duchy of Cornwall; John Vincent, president of the Royal Bath and West of England Society, and Ben Parker of the River Bourne Community Farm, which won the award last year.

Jan Barber of the Rowde village shop said: “Needless to say, we are very excited about this and we will be pulling out all the stops to make a good impression.”
