One lucky person at the Concert at the Kings charity gig in All Cannings will be going backstage to meet the stars after a 'golden ticket draw'.

Landlord Richard Baulu, one of the Rock Against Cancer organisers, said: “On the day of the concert we will draw one of the ticket stubs and they will be able to go backstage and have a chance to meet the stars, get their autographs and have their photos taken with them.

"It will be an opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the concert backstage.

"It’s the first time we have done it and it’s another way for people to get something else out of the day.”

The bands performing on the main stage are The Troggs, Los Pacaminos with Paul Young, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, The Straits and the headline band is The Boomtown Rats led by Sir Bob Geldof.

The concert is on Saturday, May 31, and is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Above and Beyond, which supports hospitals in Bristol, and projects in All Cannings. It takes place in a field behind the Kings Arms pub.

Mr Baulu said tickets were selling well with over 3,250 sold out of 4,500 available.

He has urged people who want to go to get their tickets soon as the week before the event normally results in a last minute rush.
