MORE than a dozen businesses in Old Town have been without power since the early hours of the morning.
At around 6.24am, electricity to areas of Bath Road, Victoria Road and Prospect Place was lost, and engineers will continue to work on the fault into this afternoon.
A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Electricity said: "Engineers have been on the site since just after 7am.
"We have tried to replace the fuses at local sub stations but they have tripped every time we changed them so we will now have to identify the underground cable fault.
"We are currently in the process of identifying the exact location of the fault to carry out repairs. We expect to continue throughout the afternoon with power being restored at some point this afernoon.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
