Melksham’s Lindsay Howard Academy of Dance took a group of 13 dancers to the regional competition of TalentFest UK recently, when the dancers, aged between six and 12, took part in workshops and received training.

They were lucky enough to be filmed by ITV as part of a new TV series Dance Moms UK.

Both of the academy’s performance teams, Khaos and Pik n Mix, have qualified in three categories to represent the South in the national finals at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens in September.

Accompanying the teams will be five successful soloists who entered the Pineapple Freestyle Stage competition, run by leading choreographer Tim Noble. The winner will receive a week of training at the Pineapple Studios in London and the opportunity to perform in the West End. The Academy meets at the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics and the Christie Miller sports centre in Melksham.
