An historic fire engine is expected to take pride of place on display in Malmesbury Town Hall in coming months.
Plans are underway to restore the old engine and take off some moveable parts before it goes on display in the window of the council building in Cross Hayes.
The engine was designed and constructed in 1770 by Samuel Phillips.
Coun Julie Exton is vice chairman of the town hall and facilities committee, which voted to see the return of the engine that was previously exhibited in the town hall before the building was renovated. All costs associated with the project will be covered by Athelstan Museum.
