Rowde Primary Academy pupils learn about First World War
Youngsters at Rowde Primary Academy will be learning about the First World War to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War.
During the autumn term they will be learning about the role of horses in the war, how young men enlisted as soldiers in 1914 and the importance of helping on farms to ensure there was enough food for the nation.
The school would like to hear of any stories and photographs of relatives who fought in the war.
The school is also planning to host a 1914 tea party for the village in September.
