  • "The owner has not been bothered about this salon for years, I've been going there for over 15 years & the staff have always been fantastic, especially one stylist in particular! It's been going down hill for over a year now ever since it was trying to be sold, looking shabby & like a ghost town, not great for a 'high quality salon' the staff were being treated very unfairly & when they had the opportunity to leave the sinking ship they did! I can't blame them!
Good luck to all of them in the new salon & it's one in the eye for the owner of Talk of the Town!"

Old Town hairdressers forced to close down after 46 years in business

This Is Wiltshire: Talk of the Town on Devizes Road Talk of the Town on Devizes Road

LONG-established salon Talk of the Town will close its doors for the final time today after allegedly going into liquidation.

The Devizes Road business, which has been running since 1968, offered hair and beauty treatments. The store’s management did not want to discuss the problems they’d encountered but confirmed that the salon will close for good at 5.30pm this evening.

However, several customers suggested that the company’s staff had been poached to work at a new Old Town salon.

One customer, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I’d been told by my hairdresser that the old owners had bought the old running shop in Old Town near the car park and were setting up a new hair salon there.

“Apparently a lot of the staff are moving over there. I’ve been going to Talk of the Town for years to get my hair cut, it’s a shame.”
