A 22 year-old Devizes man has been charged in connection with an assault on two police officers in the town during the early hours of Sunday.
George Maslen, of Nursteed Close, appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court this morning charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, common assault and possession of a class-B drug.
Maslen pleaded not guilty to common assault and the case was adjourned to Salisbury Crown Court on July 9. He was remanded in custody.
A 24 year-old Devizes man - arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent - has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
