Police are seeking a dog owner whose pet attacked another dog, before he threatened to assault its owner with a dog lead.

Officers from the North Swindon Neighbourhood Policing Team said Buddy (pictured) was attacked by another dog in North Swindon this week, and his woman owner verbally abused and threatened.

A police spokesman said: "They were walking on the footpath alongside Orchid Vale School on Monday afternoon when a muscular black staffie with a very shiny coat ran up to Buddy and bit him around the head and neck.

"Buddy’s owner grabbed her pet away, but was then shouted at by the other dog walker, who yelled swear words and very offensive terms at her. The man also gestured as if he was going to hit her with his dog’s black leather lead."

The offender is described as a tall white man in his late thirties, he has a broad build, a local accent and had his head shaved.

He wore a Chelsea shirt and a dark baseball cap and was scruffy in his appearance. He was with a woman who had long blond hair, possibly worn in a plait, she was of heavy build and wore a navy blue tracksuit.

Both the dog warden and the local neighbourhood policing team would like to speak to this man, can you help us to identify him? If you know who he may be call 101, email swindnnorthnpt@wiltshire.pnn.police.uk or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
