A Group of over fifties from Malmesbury hope to set up a University of the Third Age, allowing people to share their experience and expertise with those keen to learn new skills.
The group is looking for over fifties who are no longer working full-time and will hold a public meeting in The Hub at The Town Hall on July 2 to launch the idea.
It needs a chairperson, a membership secretary and a treasurer, and will charge a small annual membership fee to cover costs.
Organiser Sara Gray said: “A University of the Third Age is an umbrella organisation for those with skills and interests that they would like to share or learn with others.
“Members can establish groups covering any interest. All that’s needed is a few members, an expert if necessary and a suitable space which can often by members’ homes.
“For example a few of the activities within the Cirencester U3A at present cover walking, book groups, computers, crafts, history of art, poetry, technology, and gardening.”
