All smiles as rain holds off for Devizes School's Year 11 prom
Students at Devizes School celebrated the end of exams at their prom.
A total of 121 Year 11 students and about 20 staff attended the prom at Cumberwell Park, Bradford on Avon, last Thursday night.
After a day of rain the weather held off for the arrival of students in the dry.
Students arrived on various modes of transport included a vintage fire engine, a Ferrari, two tractors and a convoy of six golf buggies.
They enjoyed a buffet, a chocolate fountain, a free photo booth and a disco.
Headteacher Malcolm Irons handed out medals as awards for various categories which included best smile, the next Einstein, best couple and best snapchatter.
Alison Andrew, deputy of Mandela House, organised the event along with the help of the prom committee comprising Year 11 students.
She said: “All the students had a fantastic time and their behaviour was exemplary. It was a very nice evening and the atmosphere was fantastic.
"The students were all very upbeat and really enjoying the evening.
"They have been a lovely year group and have worked hard and they were able to relax at the prom.
"Hopefully their exam results will show their hard work and we wish all of the leavers the very best for the future.”
