WILTSHIRE Police are still appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Saturday.

The single vehicle collision occurred westbound on the C124 west of Kempsford - approximately 400m west of The Street, Marston Meysey, shortly before 1pm.

A blue Land Rover Discovery came off the carriageway and collided with a hedge.

Tragically, a six-year-old girl who was travelling in the car died from her injuries at the scene.

The 26-year-old female driver was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where she remains in a critical condition.

The two other passengers in the car, a seven-year-old boy and a two-year-old boy were also taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital. The two-year-old boy was discharged but the seven-year-old remains in hospital with minor injuries.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit at Wiltshire Police continue to investigate the circumstances of this collision and would appeal for any witnesses to come forward who may have seen the incident or the car before it occurred.
