TRIBUTES have been paid to Terry Hunt, the former chairman of the Rodbourne Cheney Residents’ Association, who died aged 64 last month after an illness.

In the latest edition of the RCRA newsletter, current chairman Richard Kimber described him as a man with a “big personality and a big heart”.

Mr Kimber said the association was on the brink of folding when Mr Hunt, his wife Linda and three other new members took over.

“Terry took over the helm as chairman, a big task,” said Mr Kimber. “He fitted in perfectly and was foremost in helping to formulate the boundaries for the new ward of Rodbourne Cheney. He was also on the action committee opposing the biomass planning issue as well as caring for and helping many residents in Rodbourne Cheney with problems and concerns. He had a desire to help others and a terrific sense of humour. He dealt with his illness with courage, humility and humour.”

Mr and Mrs Hunt had two children and 10 grandchildren.
