WILTSHIRE Museum in Devizes has scrapbooks of national newspaper coverage of the First World War on display in its library plus other documents and photographs.

It will host an exhibition on the war from September 19 – to mark the death of the first soldier from Devizes – until the end of the year. In Seend, bell ringers at the Church of the Holy Cross plan to ring at each quarter year to commemorate those who fell during World War One from Seend, Bulkington and Poulshot.

A display will show all 67 names, military service detail, cemetery and information on family connections.

Each quarterly ringing is on a Sunday evening at around 6pm. The bells will be rung half muffled. A special service of parish communion will be held in the church at 11.15am on Sunday.

Christ Church, Bulking-ton, will have a Bulkington Remembers exhibition and floral display this weekend from 11am to 4pm. A service of remembrance as at 9.30am on Sunday.
