Westbury arson arrest after fire in flat

A man aged 26 from the Westbury area has been arrested on suspicion of arson and intent to endanger life after a fire broke out in a flat in Westbury early Saturday morning.

One crew from Warminster and one from Trowbridge attended the small fire in the ground-floor flat in Warminster Road at 4am.

They used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet, as well as a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots and ventilation to clear the smoke.

The man has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
