A MAN who was celebrating his 50th birthday suffered a head injury when he was attacked.
Police were called to Sheep Street in Highworth on Saturday at 11.30pm following reports of an assault.
An appeal has now been launched for witnesses.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “He was taken by ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Enquiries are ongoing but police would like to hear from anyone who may have any information on the incident.
“Call 101 with information or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.”
