A BUILDING site was awash with colour on Friday as construction workers donned bright pink jackets as part of a fundraising campaign for Breast Cancer Now.

Staff from David Wilson Homes swapped their regular hi-vis gear for pink jackets and hats to mark the charity’s national Wear it Pink Day.

The construction team, as well as sales staff at the company’s Tadpole Garden Village development, pledged their support for the UK’s biggest and pinkest fundraiser which calls for supporters to ditch the day to day wear and pull on the pink to raise money for breast cancer research.

Louise Ware, sales and marketing director at David Wilson Homes, said: “After spending the rest of the year in yellow hi-vis gear, our staff have been looking forward to having a bit of fun and donning a more unusual colour on Wear It Pink Day.

“They certainly turned some heads as visitors came to see the new homes at our Tadpole Garden Village development.”

Now in its 15th year, Wear It Pink raises more than £2 million every year for world-class breast cancer research.

Lottie Barnden, senior fundraising products manager at Breast Cancer Now, said: “We are so thrilled that staff from David Wilson Homes are showing their support for Wear It Pink again this year.

“It is wonderful to know that so many people are getting involved to help fundraise for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving breast cancer research.

“We hope everyone at David Wilson Homes had a great day and we can’t wait to see the photos of them looking pretty in pink.”

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity and schools, workplaces and homes throughout the country got involved on Friday to Wear it Pink.
