PLANS to create an exciting outdoor play area for youngsters at a Devizes nursery have been given a boost by a donation from a supermarket.
St Joseph's Nursery is drawing up a plan for the play project and was delighted when Asda at Melksham gave it a cheque for £200.
Nursery deputy manager Sam Hunter said: "We are very grateful for the donation. Our committee has just started drawing up plans for the outdoor play area so we are not exactly sure at the moment what it will include."
The nursery was put forward as a good cause to the supermarket by a parent who works at the store. Customers are given tokens which they can place in a container to support one of a number of chosen charities.
St Joseph's, which has been operating for 35 years, takes children aged from two to rising five from 8.50am to 3pm. Some youngsters go for just one session a week while others go everyday.
Ms Hunter said: "We do have space for a few extra children at the moment for some of our sessions."
