Ellie Maynard’s injury-time equaliser completed a a two-goal comeback to give Town Ladies an equal share of four goals and the points with visitors Larkhall Athletic in the South West Combination League.
A pair of headers from Maynard and Chyna Collings salvaged a point for Town, having conceded two goals in seven minutes after the break.
Town stay top of the South West Combination, albeit having played six games mroe than second-placed Plymouth.
Larkhall settled into the game quicker and almost opened the scoring when Kate Genman went close with a header from Liz Bannett cross.
Genman threatened again shortly after as she raced onto a through ball but Town keeper Robyn Levett was quickly off her line to clear.
Town were making little headway through the visitor’s defence with Larkhall creating the better chances.
Town’s play did eventually start to flow and they almost took the lead against the run of play when Beth Thompson’s corner was played onto the post by a defender and then cleared.
Soon afetr Georgia Walters picked up a Larkhall clearance but her long range shot was just too high.
A lapse in the Town’s defence gave Genman another opening but Levett in Town’s goal did well to save.
Soon after, Bannett found herself clear of Town’s defence but Morgan chased her down to clear the danger, meaning the score at the half was 0-0.
Within seven minutes of the restart the Town were two goals down, Genman scoring from Bannet’s corner, then three minutes later the same player knocked in Munro’s free kick.
This seemed to spur Town into life putting the visitor’s defence under immediate pressure. In the 67th minute Town’s efforts were rewarded when Collings headed in Walters’ free kick.
Town had Levett to thank for keeping them in it as she was forced to save with her legs, preventing Michelle Munro’s free kick from finding the net.
The save proved even more vital when Town equalsied with time running out.
Throwing everything forward deep into injury time, Ellie Maynard headed in Tara McGee’s cross to give the Town a well-earned point.
