Teen hospitalised after trio attack

A 12-YEAR-OLD is one of three youngsters arrested following a serious assault on a teenager in Plumstead.

The 16-year-old victim suffered head wounds after being attacked in Congleton Grove, near the junction with Burrage Road, at about 4.55pm.

Police arrested three boys in connection with the assault.

Two of the trio, aged 15 and 16, voluntarily attended the police station, while the third, aged 12, was arrested at his home.

The victim had been rushed to Royal London Hospital and was released two days later. His condition is described as comfortable.

Police are appealing for information, particularly from anyone who saw a group of four boys fighting next to garages, in Congleton Grove, between 4.30pm and 5pm on March 23, the day of the attack.

A police spokesman said: "The area is a cul-de-sac, which contains a large block of flats. It was broad daylight on a warm Sunday when many people would have been out and about."

The three boys have been bailed until April 7, pending further enquiries.
