Hockey: Wootton Bassett Ladies were defeated 6 - 1 by Isca Dragons 2nd at Exeter in their West Clubs Premier Division Two game.

The Dragons scored two early goals, and despite Wootton Bassett's valiant efforts the home side went 4 - 0 up by half time. Early in the second half, Wootton Bassett came back strongly and were unlucky to concede a goal against the run of play. Wootton Bassett maintained their attack and had several promising shots at goal before Isca Dragons scored a sixth goal, on the break.

The visitors retaliated with vigour and Nattie Moore crossed the ball slickly into the circle, where Heather Box slotted it home.

The goal boosted Wootton Bassett's confidence but although they kept up the pressure, their efforts were in vain. Player of the Match was Vicky Field. This Saturday Wootton Bassett 1st XI will play a friendly against Yeovil, away.

Wootton Bassett Ladies 2nd XI picked up a valuable League point in their Severn Div 1 game against Leominster, away. Wootton Bassett absorbed a lot of pressure in a goalless first half, and defended well in the second half. However, they were unable to score and the game ended 0 - 0 after a good team performance. Player of the Match was captain Sarah Scarth. This weekend they will play Hereford at home, 11.30am.

Wootton Bassett 3rd XI lost their Severn Div 3 game against Blockey, away. Blockley went ahead early in the game, and scored again in the first minute of the second half. All Wootton Bassett's chances were thwarted and the home side won 2 - 0. Bronnie Duff, Wootton Bassett's goalkeeper, was Player of the Match. Vicky Green had a good game in defence This Saturday Wootton Bassett 3rd XI will play Badgers, at home, 10am.
