SWINDON SUNDAY LEAGUE: Gary's just gr-eight!

Gareth Walton went goal crazy for Rodbourne Arms in their match with South Marston as he scored eight of his team's goals in a 9-1 victory, writes STEVE ASHLEY.

James Turpie fired in the other in their Division Four game.

Elsewhere in Division Four Matt Bissett put leaders AA Drainaway in front against Abbey Scaffolding Dolphin only for Sam Bown to reply before Graham Prictor sealed a 2-1 victory in the second period.

Intermach Wheatsheaf kept up the pressure behind Drainaway with a 6-1 win at Sony Owl Madrid. Matt Boakes (2), Steve Winchcombe, Mark Hillcoat, Tom Bevan and Jon Webb netted.

Queenstown Sunday completed their fixtures with a 3-2 home win against Dennis Removals. Jason Coe with a double and Tom Green who hit the winner, were on target.

There was another victory for Division Eight leaders Penhill Aces who beat Roughmoor Rangers 4-1 to take the league's top scorers to over 100 goals for the season.

The prolific Blaine Fitzgerald bagged a couple in this latest win. Carl Grimwood and Richard Smith also scored.

Wheatsheaf Stratton, who are chasing Penhill, edged out Swindon Snooker 3-2 with three late goals ending with a Craig Tuck winner. Tom Price hit a double and the Snooker replies came from Shaun Rumming and Craig Bibby.

Also involved in the chase are Westbrook, who beat Halcrow 2-0 with goals from Chris Gibbons and Jon Smith.

Vladimir Mager (2), Petr Prochazka and Stan Smrcek all netted for CSA Sandgate in their 4-0 win at Red Lion Wootton Bassett.

Patheon won 4-3 at Ventrolla with Andy Wiles, Paul Mutengu and Craig Willison (2) on the mark, Eddie Damarell with a double and Shane Gilbert replying for Ventrolla.

In the top league, Paul Venables put Sunday Merlin 1-0 at home to Haydon Wick WMC before Dennis King equalised for the visitors but Ash Whitbread sealed a 2-1 victory for the Merlin.

SKS Blyskawica beat Wroughton WMC 1-0 with a second half Kieran McDonnell winner.

Duckhams are closing in on Division Two leaders GW Nalgo after Nalgo went down 4-2 at Coleshill. Trailing to doubles from Rob Harrington and Adam Sly they woke up with two James Keller efforts but it was too late.

Duckhams beat Windmill 4-1 with James Bradfield on the spot with a couple, added to by Neil Edwards and Matt Horsell. Windmill replied through Liam Hellewell.

Pewsey Saints hammered Greenbridge MOT Centre 9-0 with a four timer from Tom Adams, Ryan Hillier with a double, Kai Dorland, Barry and George Flippance.

Shock result in Division Three was AFC Cricklade's 5-3 loss at Wanborough, whose scorers were John Angliss with a couple, Pete Myall, Mike Kent and Pete Stradling, with the Cricklade replies coming from Matt Richards (2) and Dan Dodson.

Hat-tricks from Warren Fuller and Steve Yeardley plus further efforts from Ben Hinson and Ed Jose helped leaders Nine Elms to an 8-2 win at home to Bell Hotel.

Lava Lounge joined Mallard Lyneham in joint second spot after the two clubs met and Lava Lounge came out on top 6-3. Craig Alexander grabbed another hat-trick and there were hits from Jordan King, Steve Townsend and Kevin Murphy as well. Mallard's three goals came from Carl Dawson and Phil Haggerstone with a couple.

In Division Five, Village Inn missed the opportunity to go back on top after they went down 3-2 at home to Inter Sandgate with Dave Ashworth and Ryan Phillips on target for the Village and the Sandgate goals coming from from Aidan Doyle, Ben Brumpton and Dean Wootton.

Two teams in Division Six have completed their fixtures. One of them, Stratton United, who are currently in second place, were 2-0 down at half -time to Pinehurst Community before hitting back strongly in the second period with a double apiece for Tom Heinz and Chris Hughes for a 4-2 win.

Smart Movers also finished their campaign with a 5-2 win at Lamb Marlborough with all the goals coming from the prolific Paul Sanders. Simon Head and Steve Ellison scored for Lamb.

White Hart Stratton lost 2-1 at AFC Royston whose goals came from Nick Pagett and Adrian Sykes with a long range effort.

Jon Cowley equalised for Cats Solutions at home to Bear Marlborough which ended 1-1.

Division Seven leaders Regent were held to a goalless draw by Walcots Finest.

Goals from Matt Jones, Jason Pickett, Mark Wells (2) and Pete Wilson gave West Swindon Wanderers a 6-3 win at home to Swindon City, the other effort being an own goal.

Famous Ale House lost 2-0 at AFC Sandgate, whose net men were Darren Price and James Mann.

A Nick Thomas double helped Thamesdown AFC to a 2-0 home win against Stratton St Margaret.
