Abbie calendar raises hospital funds

A NUDE calendar featuring a collection of Melksham women has raised £800 for the physiotherapy department at the Royal Bristol Children's Hospital.
Abbie's Calendar was launched at the end of last year by Beth Dark, mother of four-year-old Abbie.
Mrs Dark, 37, of Craybourne Road, Melksham, wanted to say thank you' to the physio department for helping her daughter cope with a spinal problem she developed, after she was born with a growth on her neck.
Little Abbie's spine is severely curved due to scoliosis that was brought on by the lymphangioma growth and she has to wear a back brace for 23 hours a day.
She and her mum went to the hospital earlier this month to present the cheque to her physio, who Abbie calls Fizzy Kev, and her surgeon, Ian Nelson.
Mrs Dark said: "It's not just because they looked after Abbie really well, it was other things that were special.
"They always went above and beyond the call of duty. At Christmas they would make sure there were stockings at the end of Abbie's bed but also presents for our other children when we came in to visit.
"They also saved her life on more than one occasion."
The photo shoot took place last August and three generations of Mrs Dark's family took part along with friends from Melksham. The models ranged in age from 18-68.
Abbie still has to have her back brace regularly adjusted at the hospital and is waiting to hear when she can have surgery to permanently straighten her spine.
The calendars are still on sale and anyone who wants a copy can call Mrs Dark on (01225) 791193.

I clicked to get on this page as fast as I could ... but, where's the picture of a sample page inside the calendar?

The wife's mother offered to pose, but they told her she was more suited to Farming Weekly.

What about a pic of you walter of wilshur? Or perhaps a pic of a bin bag might be better? Congratulations to Abbie's family for raising the money and to Abbie for coping so well.
