Perrin backing Bluebirds to win derby clash

EX-CHIPPENHAM Town manager Darren Perrin has backed the Bluebirds to beat
Mangotsfield United at the Field today, but divided loyalties mean he would
like to see honours end even.
Perrin parted company with the Mangos as assistant manager three weeks ago,
and said he would sit on the fence regarding the game between his two old
clubs.
Perrin said: "The best result for me on Saturday would be a draw.
"I think it will be a lot closer than people think but I do feel Chippenham
will just about edge it.
"All season Mangotsfield have been defensively strong and I think it's
apparent to everyone what their problem has been, scoring goals.
"Chippenham have got plenty of pace in their side and they are coming off
the back of a win against Gloucester.
"Chippenham will be buoyant and I feel they will be too strong in the
midfield area.
"Their experience with people like Iain Harvey and Kye Holly may prove a bit
too much for Mangotsfield.
"But they won't be able to pass the ball very well because of the bobbly
pitch, it won't be a game for the purists."
Chippenham may be without in-form midfielder Scott Lye, who is rated 50-50
with a calf problem.
Perrin said he was still very much behind the Bluebirds in their bid for
promotion to the Conference South.
Perrin said: "It's been well-documented that I hope Chippenham get promoted
for the supporters and the players and they have got a good chance."
