Wiltshire face must-win game
Neil Shardlow
Neil Shardlow

WILTSHIRE team manager Neil Shardlow is confident ahead of his team's crucial MCCA Trophy clash against Berkshire at Trowbridge tomorrow.

Wiltshire's defeat to Devon a fortnight ago means they must beat Berkshire to give themselves a realistic chance of qualifying from their group.

Shardlow said: "It's a bit of a fight to get the qualification places and each game is going to be like a one-off cup game where we've got to win.

"It's tough but we're going with the same squad and it's a strong squad.

"There's no reason why we can't win. We know how the wicket at Trowbridge plays which should benefit us a little bit.

"The wicket is very low and slow and batsmen have got to apply themselves a bit more.

"But we've got enough batters in our team to chase or set a big total.

"It's a case of rolling up our sleeves and showing everyone what we can do."

Wiltshire squad:

  • Richard Bedbrook (Beckenham) (captain)
  • James Hibberd (South Wilts)
  • Eddie Abel (South Wilts)
  • Michael Coles (Corsham)
  • James Golding (Lansdown)
  • Jayden Levitt (Bromsgrove)
  • Adam Miles (Chippenham)
  • Alex Senneck (Corsham)
  • Damian Shirazi (Totton and Eling)
  • Roger Sillence (Corsham)
  • Rob Travers (Glastonbury)
  • Pat Turk (Spencer)
  • James Vince (Chippenham/Hampshire Academy).
