Fancying a traditional Sunday lunch we took a drive out just before Christmas, and found the Churchill Arms in the middle of the village.
On Sundays the carvery is the only option and is available between 12 midday and 3pm. I thought the price tag of £7.95 was reasonable for a Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. Children’s portions are also available for £5.95.
There were three meats on offer, gammon, chicken and beef, with Martin choosing to have a bit of each. I had the vegetarian option of a nut roast.
You could then help yourself to as many vegetables, potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings as you liked.
Martin said his favourite was the gammon, as it was tender and had a great taste. My favourite part of the meal was the Yorkshire puddings as they were light and crunchy.
I would definitely come for a Sunday lunch again, preferring the setting of the Churchill Arms to a chain.
An added bonus was that the pub has free wifi and pool along with being dog friendly in the bar area.
The total bill for two mains and two large Cokes was £20.90.
