My friends and I decided to stop for a bite to eat at The Lamb on the Strand.

As we entered the cosy pub we were greeted by a friendly face and shown to a table near the wood-burning stove, a perfect spot to warm up.

The Sunday lunch menu offers three courses but we decided just to go for mains so we weren’t too full to continue our walk afterwards.

Myself and Liam went for the roast beef served with homemade Yorkshire pudding while Sean chose the roast lamb with stuffing.

The food arrived very quickly and was very well presented. There was plenty of meat and an abundance of vegetables to accompany it.

The whole meal was thoroughly enjoyable, the beef was tender and vegetables were cooked to perfection.

Sean was particularly taken by the roast potatoes and I was impressed that all four meats on offer had different gravies to compliment them. All of the staff were very attentive and were more than happy to oblige any requests we had.

It proved to be the perfect place to stop off and rejuvenate and I will certainly be returning in the near future.

Three meals and a small Coke came to £40.80, which I was more than happy to pay for such an enjoyable meal.

* Food served seven days a week from noon-2.30pm and 6pm-9.30pm.
