I opted for the unlimited lunchtime buffet, which allows you to sample a range of pizza, pasta and salad for £6.99 until 3pm.

The staff were really welcoming and when I said I was vegetarian, were good enough to let the chef know. Two veggie pizzas promptly appeared on the hot plate, nice and fresh whereas the others had been sitting there a while.

The fluffy dough of the deep pan had a yeasty hint of alcohol. It was definitely the choice for those who favour American pizzas over Italian, being all about the cheese rather than the sauce.

It was nice to choose a mix of what you fancy and try something you may not normally order a full portion of. Also, a great option for the famished, as you can go back and help yourself to as much as you like, with only the judgement of other diners to curb your greed.

Sadly, I also needed to file copy. I had chosen Pizza Hut for its free wi-fi, but my laptop told me there was no internet access.

The lunch buffet option doesn’t include drinks so I ordered a strawberry milkshake for £2.95, with a frothy ice cream topping and a syrup cross on the top whose sweetness filtered through with each lovely creamy sip.
