CHART-TOPPER Josh Kumra is hoping to hit the charts again but this time he is doing it by himself.

The 21-year-old former Headlands School pupil released his debut solo track Helicopters And Planes in July and is back with his follow-up single Waiting For You.

Josh, who has just come back from a European tour, has had a busy year since his number one hit Don’t Go with Wretch 32, taking to the stages of the Glastonbury and V festivals, as well as performing on Later With Jools Hollandand Radio One’s Live Lounge.

His new single, which is now available to pre-order on iTunes, has already been praised by Radio One DJ Fearne Cotton. Josh hopes it shows people who he is as an artist.

He said: “Waiting For You is going to be released on January 6, but is already available to pre-order.

“I feel like this single is where I want to be and shows who I want to be as an artist.

“I would love to get into the top 40 with this single, it is all part of my journey.”

Josh, likened to a young Ray LaMontagne or Ben Harper, is rapidly developing a name for himself as a gutsy and heartfelt performer and songwriter.

Josh is hoping to follow this single up with his third The Avenue which will be released early next year before his debut album comes out in March.

“This is something I have been working towards for four years now. I think 2013 is going to be a busy year for me.”
