CHILDREN from seven schools in Swindon will be taking part in a world record breaking attempt on Wednesday for the most people signing and singing a song on the same day. Pupils at schools from across the town will be joining in with the sign2sing event organised by the charity SignHealth.

Linda Petrons, the events and corporate fundraiser at SignHealth, said: “Last year 116,980 people took part in our sign2sing 2013 event and broke the Guinness World Records.

“The previous record was 114,277, which we set in 2012.

“On February 5, children and adults from across the country will once again take part in the world record attempt for the most people signing and singing a song on the same day.

“More than 920 schools and organisations across the country and overseas have signed up and we’re pleased that seven schools in Swindon are involved in sign2sing too.”

Children and adults from all over the country and overseas will sign a song that has been especially composed for the event.

The money raised from the event will be used to continue the charity’s work helping to improve the mental and physical health and well-being of deaf people, including deaf children.
