So, it’s almost August already, which means that the festival season is drawing to a close. But if you haven’t managed to attend any festivals yet, don’t panic, you’ve still got a couple of chances to get yourself along to one.
One of these is Sugarhill Festival, which is returning after taking a year off, and it’s lineup is set to be its best yet. It’s being held on Warren Farm in Liddington on Saturday.
Disco-punk band New Young Pony Club, pictured, will be popping by to headline on the main stage, but it’s the local bands on the bill that really make this festival worth a visit. Some are just finding their feet, such as indie quartet Patchwork Prophets, teenage YouTube sensation Shannon Saunders and hip-hop/rock five-piece The Disco PieRats. But there’s also some more established local acts, like Glastonbury-veterans Napoleon In Rags and the unfairly talented Theo Altieri.
And then there’s bands (well, one band at least) in the twilight years of their careers, in the shape of local alt-pop trio The Alfonz, who recently announced that they will be splitting up soon, making Sugarhill Festival their penultimate gig.
But that’s not all that’s going on, so head over to the Sugarhill website to see what else is on offer. Whatever you do, don’t miss out on one of the last festivals of the summer.
