This four-track offering is a taster for the Devizes band’s first album, due out next year.

Hard Knoxxx features some of the faster paced songs from a collection the band describe as pure hard rock, tongue in cheek, party music.

This is metal as it used to be, with echoes of Saxon, Def Leppard and Iron Maiden for those old enough to have been first-time fans. It’s bursting with energy, driving drums and the sentiments of youth.

There’s some very solid and accomplished musicianship here, especially in the guitar work.

To my ear only one of the three songs I sampled– One Night – had more originality than retro about it, and I wondered if the band could keep up the intensity of the performance for a whole set and who would collapse first, band or audience.

You can find out at the EP’s launch gig at The Bell on the Green in Devizes on Friday, August 13, entry just £1 on the door or free with a promotional flyer.

They will be supported by Chippenham act Electric Trash, a ‘sleazy rock n roll band’ who will be bringing big hair, big riffs, and lots of energy.
