Wild man of guitar Innes Sibun is packing up his amps and heading for Swindon on Saturday.
Innes is best known for playing with Robert Plant on his Fate of Nations tour in the USA. He is also featured on the Led Zeppelin singer’s Sixty Six To Timbuktu album.
Innes was produced by Mike Vernon who looked after John Mayall, Eric Clapton and Innes’ music hero Peter Green.
The blues rock guitarist actually met Peter when he opened for him in New York and was asked to play on Rattlesnake Guitar, a tribute album to Peter. Also on the CD were such luminaries as Rory Gallagher, Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull and Snowy White.
Innes has supported many top name blues bands and singers including Taj Mahal, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Chris Farlowe, Jools Holland, Roger Chapman and Johnny Winter.
On Saturday Innes is bringing his own band to the Rolleston, Commercial Road, featuring Swindon’s own Jon Bucket on keyboards. John is a well known on the Swindon music scene most recently playing with the Bob Bowles Band.
