It will be neck and neck at Cheltenham racecourse when a host of top names in the music industry get the bit between their teeth at the eighth Wychwood Festival.

Organisers promise three days of music, comedy, cabaret, workshops and cinema beneath the Prestbury Hills from tomorrow to Sunday.

Topping the bill tomorrow night will be Bellowhead and Saturday sees James step in to the limelight while other acts throughout the festival include: Show of Hands, Simon Friend’s Seismic Survey, Robin Ince, The Saw Doctors, Sharon Shannon, Hawkwind, Dodgy, The Damned, Mahala Rai Banda, Duke Special, Dr and the Medics, The Cuban Brothers and the BBC introducing bands The Green boasts more than 100 workshops, from arts and crafts to dancing and some rare treats such as beat boxing and ukulele lessons.

World music favourites Baraka have joined the ranks with their mix of music from Ghana, Senegal, Dominica and Ireland with a spoonful of reggae and Three Beards who play a mix of Eastern European music and East Anglian folk songs.
