TWO chart-topping acts will be headlining this summer’s Swindon and Wiltshire Pride event.

Mobo award winner Baby D will be wowing the crowd with her 1990s hits Let Me Be Your Fantasy, So Pure and Take me to Heaven.

She will be joined by international dance DJ and former Celebrity Big Brother star Basshunter.

Basshunter, real name Jonas Altberg, has had a string of hits and sold more than four million records.

His smash hit single Now You’re Gone remained at the top of the charts for five weeks in 2008.

The hits continued throughout the year with All I Ever Wanted, Angel In The Night, I Miss You and Walk on Water.

The annual event will take place on Saturday, August 4 at the Town Gardens, Quarry Road, Old Town.

The first Swindon Pride was held in August 2008 and was attended by about 4,500 people. By last year that figure had risen to 7,500.

Swindon and Wiltshire Pride chairwoman, Jo Sharpe said: “We are extremely pleased to have such world renowned and award winning acts appearing this year to help us celebrate our fifth anniversary.

“Both Baby D and Bass-hunter are huge artists with success all over the world.”

Entertainment co-ordinator Mark Oliver added: “We really wanted to take this year’s event to a new level, and the addition of both Basshunter and Baby D will help us achieve this.”
