The first event at the new Devizes Arts Centre brings Swindon musician Shaun Buswell and his amazing London Underground Orchestra to the town on Saturday night.

The show has been organised by the town’s independent music promoter Keiran Moore, who has been operating as Sheer Music for ten years and is delighted to be working with the Arts Centre committee.

“It is a platform from which I can now consider a wider range of musical endeavours and in a much cooler performance space,” said Kieran “This is the first contemporary event at the Arts Centre and I am proud to be hosting it. Ticket sales have been strong and I am over the moon at people’s desire to support the project.”

Anyone who has travelled on the London Underground will have noticed that there is nearly always someone on the train with a musical instrument case. Intrigued by this, Swindon musician Shaun Buswell set himself a challenge, to stage a concert by an orchestra made up entirely of strangers recruited on the Underground.

The orchestra plays a selection of classics, movie music and Buswell’s own compositions and has performed several times since its first concert in 2012, but this will be their first time outside the capital.

Over the next few months more events will continue establishing the venue as an arts centre for the town and area.
