Salisbury Cathedral Choir, with boy and girl choristers and lay vicars, can be heard performing together in the cathedral on Monday at 7.30pm, when they sing some of the repertoire they take with them on tour to France next month, based around Salisbury’s twin city of Saintes.
Tickets, £12/£8, all unreserved, are available at the door on the night.
David Halls, director of music, said: “Because the choir tour takes place in Lent, much of the music is reflective in tone.
“For this fundraising concert the choir will sing a selection of pieces they will perform in France, notably beautiful 16th century anthems by Anerio, Lassus, Palestrina and Victoria, contrasted by works from more recent history, such as motets by Bruckner, Grieg, Rheinberger and Pablo Casals.”
