Although the Friday and Saturday night performances are close to selling out for next week’s annual Shakespeare Live production, with over 2,000 seats available during the week there’s still plenty of opportunity to see murder and madness unfold before your eyes.
With nearly 400 seats in the covered stand for each of the seven performances, this year looks to be one of the best sellers in recent years.
Macbeth is one of the great tragedies, full of love, hate, ambition, and witchcraft, though the witches in this production aren’t the usual old hags, but are sexy and seductive as they lead Macbeth to his doom. Terrific lighting and sound effects will add to the drama.
The lovely gardens are open for picnics before the shows in what promises to be balmy summer evenings. There is a licensed bar, refreshments on sale and parking is close by and easy.
